At GHC, we are committed to bridging the gap between global best practices and local implementation in health communication research. Our mission is to address critical health challenges by conducting impactful research that prioritizes global and local perspectives.
By prioritizing community-based participatory research (CBPR) approaches or what others call community-engaged research (CEnR), we empower communities and give agency to the people by ensuring that the communities we work with are active collaborators in creating meaningful, sustainable change.
Together, we aim to transform health communication by amplifying local voices through health literacy and health promotion, and fostering collaboration across disciplines and geographies.
Join us in our journey to make a meaningful difference in health communication worldwide.
"Health communication is the science and art of using communication to advance the health and well-being of people and populations" (SHC, 2017).
"Health communication is a multidisciplinary field of study and practice that applies communication evidence, strategy, theory, and creativity to promote behaviors, policies, and practices that advance the health and well-being of people and populations" (SHC, 2017).
At GHC, we adopt a glocal approach, which means that we view things through global and local lenses, especially by implementing global best practices at local levels while ensuring that local contextual factors are recognized, respected, and incorporated into health practices and campaigns geared toward improving the health and well-being of the people and populations we study.
